In the few minutes before we put dinner on the table, I suggested a fast drawing-the-dog game. Here is a mix of results from me and the two youngest children. The crayon drawings are mine.
The next ones show the dog held in my eldest son’s arms, gazing at us upside down.
I love the cartwheels! ❤️🐶
Spelling isn’t her top skill for some reason … “cartweels”
I can see rufus is going to appear on here lots. love the soft cuddliness of the first pastel one. Missing my sister’s dog – my ‘favourite nefrew’.
Its taking time to find the right techniques to draw the dog and get a sense of his colour. There are blues in the sheen of his coat. In that drawing, I had begun with blocks of conte crayon over a failed pencil drawing. I then used a children’s eraser (the useless ones on the backend of a pencil) to get rid of the previous lines, and discovered the rubber worked well both lifting and merging tones.
Oh that’s what those rubbers are for – I thought they were for ruining your homework!
Cartwheeling dog! All brilliant!
aaaaawwwww 😀
This made me grin – lovely!

🐶 HELLO SISTERS! TRULY, THE WORKS THAT WE CAN APPRECIATE IN FULL PASTEL COLOURS, IN MY OPINION ARE SUBLIME SKETCHES.
