Siden Hill Woods on my left, a view over fields in late afternoon sunshine in April.
Drawn on A5 dark blue Ingres textured paper in conte crayon
Whitby Abbey drawn while the children hunted for quiz clues.
A complex surface dappled with sunshine and shadow.
An attempt to simplify and abstract in a few tones on Strathmore tan paper.
Really effective – the perspective on the cloud layers is great.
Thanks
It turned out better than I expected for a quick sketch.
Nicely done!
Thanks
I love the tones you’ve achieved in the landscape. The left tree and the slant of the foreground are particularly beautiful. There’s a nice contrast in the abbey too – the open to the sky arches and the cramped red arches on the left. Is that some bare paper I can see there too?!
Yea! Bare paper makes the midtones for the abbey and leaks through the landscape, especially in the left foreground. 🙂
Actually the paper is the light tone looking again.
I love the blue on that last one. Width and depth and light. (K)
I love the abstraction going on here, it really packs a punch
