These next half dozen posts show small sketches in an Arches Carnet de Voyage pad from the nearby woods and flooded quarry works made in March, May and July. In the middle of this sequence comes some discussion on mixing greens based on advice given to me during the Seabird Painting Course.
To the three kind people who have already “liked” this: I think the second picture was painted in April or May and will appear in the next post. The greens are wrong for March.
the greens in my wood are turning black right now, or greenyblack, i should say
You are probably right. I’ve spent the last two weekends working and yesterday had surgery (nothing serious) so am unable to cycle or drive out to the woods for a few weeks. So when I get there the greens will be on the way out, I guess. painting sporadically like this is almost a shock as time passes so visibly.
I wish you a speedy recovery 🙂
cheers
