  1. I really like this image. I was immediately drawn in by the texture, color and contrast. What medium is this?

  2. HI Amy
This piece was done on the iPad. It is not really supposed to be a finished piece. I have begun to think through a series of paintings taking the work of Anselm Kiefer as their cue. The idea is to build highly textured paintings that incorporate various found materials. His work also includes words and seem to document a social commentary: in his case on post-War Germany. This is very different to my usual style. I’ve bought acrylic paint to undertake a more impasto style incorporating fragments of pottery and wood (I think). I’m keeping to a limited palette – I like building greys with, for example, rose and viridan. So over the weekend, I started to explore these ideas in odd moments between work and family life using the iPad. The programme is called Artrage.
I hope to be posting further developments, in real paint, over the next week or so (although just for next week I shall be taking a different direction on a seabird painting course).

    • Very cool! I ama simply amazed at the capabilities computers had. I have just emerged from the cocoon of starting a family and finally getting kid’s in school so I feel like I missed a decade lol.

I am really looking forward to seeing how this develops for you!
